The NQ Loft project was a full strip and remodel of an existing (430 sqft) studio apartment in the Northern Quarter, Manchester.
Previously rented and in severe need of an upgrade, the client wanted to create a stand-out interior.
Upon strip out, we realised some marginal gain could be realised on ceiling height, and through the addition of a sleeping mezzanine, the main space could be designed purely as ‘living’ with the bed out of sight.
We also uncovered an original brick wall, previously plastered over, which became the main accent of the space.
The walls were designed as banks of storage, creating an abundance of practical space which is quite uncommon in city centre living.
